Patti Schumann is a noted leader in strategic marketing for creative professionals. She has over 20 years of marketing experience. Patti began her career in the industry as a sales rep for Chicago Source Book. She worked in San Francisco and the Pacific Northwest as sales manager for Creative Black Book and AR. She moved to Dallas as team leader to develop the Texas market for national publications and to start up the Texas Source Book.
In 1990 Patti founded Schumann & Company, an agency representing photographers and illustrators. Patti relocated her business to Austin, Texas and added an associate. In 2000 she came full circle moving back to Chicago, her hometown, and continues to market photographers and illustrators nationally to advertising agencies, design firms and companies direct.
Patti has participated on the boards of many related professional organizations including Ad Club of Houston, AIGA (founding member of Austin chapter), and CAR (Chicago Artist Representatives). Throughout Patti’s career she has spoken to many organizations including APA, ASMP and Women in Communication. Topics covered include, but are not limited to strategic marketing, portfolio development, the rep/talent relationship, pricing and usage, and the impact of online marketing. She also guest lectures at universities and art schools, providing insight to graduating students an inside look at careers in photography, illustration and design, hidden careers paths in the creative industry, and the importance of professional presentation and portfolios.
Patti is available for individual consultation on strategic marketing, portfolio development, and becoming rep ready. The initial strategic session includes general review of work, discussion on strategic steps to drive business in desired direction, and preliminary marketing plan with action items to help meet business goals. Session runs approximately 2 hours. Consultation fee is $250. Follow up consultations are based on an hourly rate. |
