Visual overload forces us to triage visual input; quickly categorizing based on general, utilitarian qualities rather than appreciating specific uniqueness. We control overload through the "art" of not seeing. Photography allows me to imagine alternate realities for the subject in an attempt to see the object not only for what it is but for what it could be or could mean. While enamored with the sheer beauty of things, I especially like to frame or script everyday objects in ways that challenge and play with the viewer's preconceptions.

I often create series of images; each discrete image, a moment in an extended dialog with subject. Held loosely, my original ideas or interests, provide a point of departure for more in depth exploration.
Exhibit is our virtual gallery space for artists to show a new or different
side of themselves. Gallery openings, personal projects, and other fun things
will be showcased. The artist and the work featured will change so keep
an eye out.
Nails Cords Singles
The nail series started as a formal study of lines and space but grew to encompass concepts of rhythm, interaction, and competition. The maintenance room at a hotel was the catalyst for this set design. My studio images are essentially "found" constructs reborn within the controlled environment of the studio.
