While in the Loop last week, Saverio Truglia meet a young, 14 year old rapper who asked if he had a camera. Needing a picture and a video for You Tube, the kid could not have asked a better person.

Photographer Saverio Truglia sponsors a cycling team each year by creating a team portrait of the group. For this year’s photo, Saverio had the Play it Again Sports team come together in an edgy, underbelly area of Chicago’s north side capturing a bold sports portrait worthy of the race.

The creative, conceptual portraits by Saverio Truglia have adorned the cover of the past few issues of Time Out Chicago magazine. For the double issue from June, Saverio creates a “High Anxiety” cover showing the stress and frustration of flight crews during summer vacation travel.

Saverio Truglia hung out with musician Andrew Bird during a recent photo shoot for Chicago Magazine. Bird, a Chicago favorite in the music scene, had a sold out performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art last month.

Saverio Truglia has been working with Victory Gardens Theater company this season shooting their promotional images. Saverio’s images have been seen all over Chicago on posters, print ads and their website. For the play “Ameriville” he photographs a lone actor afloat on a weather beaten vessel in a post-Katrina era.

Saverio Truglia went back to the glamorous days of flying for a recent Pan Am shoot for their new product line. Launching a new line of travel bags and accessories the former airline now has an ABC series named after it that stars Christina Ricci.
